Very promising. You sit in a relaxed, small generators, the control panel from the perspective of the V-league training and promote the best parts before. It is intended for intensive, but it coincides with the car. The ratio six-speed is nice, it seems more precise steering and normal-weight compared to many other systems of technical assistance. So far, so good.

Two tribes, but, or three, when the breeze is blowing around the turbine hinged glass of wine can share. One is that for all gas Veloster anxious, adjustable and CEO Chuck is interesting that a lot of excellent vision as sharp as a razor hit the street, or a choice of road transport. More is needed to complete shots. The other is that the site looks good in low speed flow in a recession, even at high speeds, which is more harmful. Hyundai Accent redefines the expectations of the subcompact category, the company offering distinctive and luxurious "Fluidic Sculpture" design, best-in-class fuel economy standards, an extraordinary volume and all the standard safety features. Despite the surprising and significant increase in technology, safety features, Hyundai hold the line on prices of the previous generation will continue to offer unique value to customers.

"2012 Hyundai Accent subcompact segment Inspiring, similar to what the game changes Sonata and Elantra have made their class," said Mike O'Brien, vice president of product planning and strategy, Hyundai Motor America. "Accent is class-leading fuel economy standards is another showcase for the commitment of Hyundai to improve fuel efficiency with advances in conventional gasoline-powered vehicles and the pot in the last quarter Hyundai produces 40 mpg on the road. "

Advanced technology, low consumption

In 2012 Hyundai Accent gamma all-aluminum 1.6-liter four-cylinder uses the latest engine technology to offer first-class 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque and better city-in-class standard 30 and 40 mpg note mpg fuel economy on the highway.

The engine is the most important use of the GDI, the first subcompact class. Precisely control the fuel injection, GDI allows fuel economy, increases power and reduces emissions. Implementation of continuous variable valve timing (CVVT D), as well as the intake and exhaust cam allows for greater efficiency, fuel economy and lower emissions. Other factors, which reduces fuel consumption are the System Management charger, crankshaft offset design, a variable air intake system and electronic speed regulator. You can reduce the cost of operating time and increase reliability, the features of the range maintenance roller chain, silent time. Range can also use the friction reducing coatings such as CrN innovative physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

Many other systems have improved over the outgoing model, which promotes greater fuel efficiency. Hyundai Accent 2012 can be equipped with six-speed manual or automatic transmission with manual SHIFTRONIC to produce a smooth and efficient delivery. Tyres with low rolling resistance and silica form a slick (0.30 cd) to reduce the friction of the road and air. This aerodynamic design also includes a kick on the edge of the frame, where the wheel tires thyroid and optimized engine for Undercover. Finally ActiveECO function to change the engine and gearbox smooth throttle response. ActiveECO launch function, drivers can take up to seven per cent growth in the real world fuel economy.

Hyundai Accent new standard front seat active headrests to prevent whiplash by reducing the range is automatically the head of the front passenger seat and head restraint during certain rear collisions and are highly recommended for security organizations, such as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Active front headrests are not available for the Fiesta, Yaris, Aveo, or Mazda2.

Hyundai Accent The underlying structure is designed to protect occupants by using a dispersal mechanism collision load and rear doors have interior beams. The vehicle structure distributes the impact force in the three ways to minimize ground deformation and maintain the integrity of the cabin.

Electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control work together to help provide a safe management in all conditions. Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) to integrate the control of the ESC and servo motor (integrated) to provide management assistance in slippery conditions or sudden curves scenarios. The system is capable of producing up to eight Newton-meters of the counter-steering efforts to help the driver maintain vehicle control.

The key to the safety of the vehicle is its braking system. Hyundai Accent is the only subcompact car segment has four wheel disc brakes as standard. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) is also included. EBD examines the effect of weight distribution of the load of the vehicle and distributes braking force between front and rear to maximize stopping power. If a panic stop, BA ensures maximum braking effect, power.

Small inside-out, great

All accents ride on a wheelbase of 101.2 inches, 2.8 inches longer than the previous generation. Width of 66.9 inches on all models of 2011 increased by 0.2 inches by 2012. The Hyundai Accent 4-door total length increased 3.5 inches to 172 inches. The total length of the new five-door version is 162 inches. Consequently, the Accent has more interior volume and passenger space. While the car's exterior dimensions are compatible with those of traditional subcompact Hyundai Accent is classified by EPA as a compact sedan with an internal volume. Toyota Yaris and Ford Fiesta cars are classified as subcompacts. In addition to the five-door Hyundai Accent has the best of its class cargo volume and a greater load capacity than the Nissan and Infiniti EX Juke crossover 35. The Accent has the best of its kind face and shoulders back and the five-door also has more cargo volume than many of its competitors five-door compact.

SAFETY DRIVING DYNAMICS

The first step towards a safe driving dynamics of a rigid structure. This is for the 2012 Hyundai Accent uses high-strength steel to produce a body of strong, lightweight and rigid, which is 22 percent stiffer than the previous generation. Increasing the rigidity of the structure allowed Hyundai engineers more flexibility in tuning the suspension. The end result is a better balance of handling precision and ride comfort. Accent uses MacPherson front suspension with coil springs and gas shock absorbers twin-tube tunnels. The rear suspension setup is a torsion axle with coil springs and monotube dampers.

Accents All columns were installed, engine-driven power steering, which instantly adjusts to changing driving conditions and a large fuel saving compared to the traditional system. 2011 Hyundai Veracruz Review

The new Veracruz crossover medium made his North American debut at the Salon of 2007 North American International Auto (NAIAS). As the Hyundai Azera is altering perceptions about premium sedans, Veracruz pioneer in premium crossovers. Hyundai has once again made luxury and performance attainable in previously unthinkable ways: with standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the upscale amenities and more cargo volume than the Veracruz full-size Mercedes-Benz GL unique combines substance with style.

Veracruz takes the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander and beats them in terms of powertrain performance and standard safety features while adding sophisticated design, high quality crafts and a room for seven adults.

"Veracruz is an exceptional vehicle at the right time to develop this segment," said Steve Wilhite, chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor America. "The vehicle designers recognized that the needs and desires of traditional SUV buyers are not being met and focused on compliance with those requirements is an elegant and ingenious. The result is a spacious crossover that delivers both refined style and superior performance."

Bold and beautiful

Veracruz continues Hyundai's product expansion and global design evolution through the continued use of fluid and organic forms to create a refined and luxurious exterior appearance.

"We are very proud of Veracruz and feel this design will not only reinforce our design direction as a society, but also greatly enhance our brand image, increasing worldwide," said Joel Piaskowski, Chief Designer Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif. "Fluid lines combined with the headlights and taillights envelop Veracruz to create a unified aesthetic integrity."

Up front, the sculpted bumper creates the appearance of additional height. Three lights complement the design parts. The grille combines a flat bezel lined upper chrome bezel and a curved bottom that houses the Hyundai logo. Distinctive character lines and a velocity profile to improve the elegant and functional. The vehicle's seductive beltline mounted wraparound headlights and follows the narrow greenhouse to include the prominent taillights. Chrome trim is strategically applied to highlight some of its design features while giving Veracruz an elegant, luxurious. The wheel arches house 17 - or 18-inch wheels and tires.

Smooth and solid in its position, the Veracruz even impresses as it departs. The integrated rear fascia has a sculpted section that blends seamlessly into the sides of the taillights. These lights are angled character line highlighting the rounded rear window. Dual chrome exhaust tips, a Hyundai design trademark, allow Veracruz 3.8L V6 engine to breathe freely. A rear spoiler enhances the sporty.

INTELLIGENT INTERIOR

Inside, passengers are pampered rich, sophisticated environment inspired by boutique hotels. The result is a design that could be found in the finest luxury sedans thanks to Hyundai intelligent design ergonomic, intuitive design and excellent workmanship. Hyundai has combined space with style, in the comfort that exceed expectations. For example, although the Veracruz is 9.7 inches shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GL, it has more cargo volume.

Every major part of the Veracruz was designed to reduce cabin noise below a quiet Lexus RX350. To isolate outside noise, Hyundai applies acoustic damping panels for doors and unibody, a steel plate under the engine and four layers of carpet padding. The engine noise is reduced by electronic engine mounts, a multi-curvature dash, custom hood insulation and a pillow tripod joint which reduces shaft vibration to a minimum.

Space for seven adults is made possible thanks to the standard Hyundai Hideaway ™ third-row seats. Accessing the third row is a short walk with the flip of a lever to slide the second row forward. Available dual-zone climate control for driver and front passenger luxury Veracruz strengthen references. Second and third row passengers will enjoy a new level of comfort, thanks to B pillar-mounted adjustable valves, rear HVAC controls and roof vents.

Brushed metal accents and blue backlighting for all interior indicators, switches and buttons highlight the modern, integrated interior design. Even the front cup holders are surrounded by blue light at night for driving support, while a soft blue spotlight overhead console provides subdued task lighting. Hyundai focused attention to detail is displayed throughout the interior - console bins and the glovebox are lined with soft flocking material. Powerpoint caps, seatbelt buckles and cupholder inserts are color harmony of design. Soft, high quality materials, surfaces with low-and zero-tolerance net-Suitable for use throughout the interior.

AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 audio system that includes an internal amplifier and six speakers standard on GLS and SE. The 315-watt Infinity ® audio system with subwoofer and external amplifier AM/FM/XM/CD-changer/MP3 is standard on. Limited trim and optional in the SE Audiophiles with even more demanding tastes will be impressed by the Infinity AM / FM / XM / CD changer audio system that includes a 605-watt external amplifier, 10 speakers and Logic 7 ® audio envelope available on SE and Limited.

Other thoughtful convenience features include a proximity key, wipers, auto dimming exterior mirrors, mirror-mounted approach lights, adjustable pedals, memory settings for mirrors, power driver's seat and steering wheel, warning system backup , power liftgate and a rear entertainment system that includes a DVD player and projection screen of eight inches.

Inner strength

On the streets, the new Veracruz thrilling performance courtesy of the same 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine that powers Azerbaijan. It produces about 260 horsepower and 257 lb-ft. of torque. If you want to maximize the diffusion of power, the engine uses continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) has intake valves and variable geometry intake system that helps cylinders breathe efficiently at both low and high speeds. The engine uses aluminum block and cylinder heads are light weight and thermal efficiency, and has distribution chains, with no maintenance.

To reduce vibration, the engine rides on a newly developed semi-active engine mounts, which consist of three passive mounts integrated control element, rpm sensor and solenoid valve. Engine mounts vacuum exploited to generate a dynamic response which offsets engine vibrations. In fact, Veracruz has less idling vibration and noise than the Lexus RX350.

To help put the power to use, the engine is mated to an Aisin six-speed with SHIFTRONIC ® manual control. The transmission offers silky smooth shifts and a wide dissemination of reports that, ideally, the ability of the engine. Drivers can access the SHIFTRONIC ® feature by moving the gear selector into a separate port. Push the lever forward or pulling it rearward will shift the transmission up or down sequentially, adding to the vehicle control. A clear LCD display on the dashboard shows the gear that is in use. The transmission uses an integrated transmission unit control and low noise gears which reduce friction.

All of this powertrain technology is put to effective use of Veracruz, with an estimated EPA highway fuel economy of 25 miles per gallon than smaller, less powerful Honda Pilot. Veracruz also offers clean air, with, as expected Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) classification.

CHASSIS FEATURES

Hyundai's engineers compared the best crosses in the world before designing Veracruz unibody and four-wheel independent suspension system. The rigid chassis and suspension geometry were specifically designed to provide a flexible, confident ride and help isolate the cabin from imperfection in the road. The Foundation is governed by a MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link system rear suspension.

Gun Control Upfront, reverse L-shaped lower wheel angles and high sense of providing senior management and an excellent straight line stability. Great crib pads to improve behavior and isolate unwanted noise vibration and harshness. The four wheels are controlled by coil springs, fade-resistant, gas-charged shocks and stabilizer bars front and rear. The Veracruz GLS uses aluminum wheels 17-inch, five split-spoke wheels and 245/65R17, while the SE and Limited trims ride on 18-inch, five journals and 245/60R18 tires. Add to a wire rack and pinion steering, with a minimum turning radius is stricter than the Lexus RX350 and Nissan Murano short, and the end result is a vehicle with precise steering and handling, and a well controlled and comfortable ride.

ELECTRONIC ALL-WHEEL DRIVE

Hyundai has added a couple of smart docking controlled All-Wheel Drive (AWD) to propel Veracruz through the elements. Through sensors for wheel speed monitor the road and the driver, this electronic system can detect when and where more torque is required and route it automatically. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a multi-plate clutch without any extra effort from the driver. An AWD lock mode can be coupled with the touch of a button with a 50:50 torque ratio when needed.

Sophisticated security systems

"The 2007 Veracruz includes active and passive safety with a series of cutting-edge technologies," said John Krafcik Vice President of Strategic Planning and Product Development, Hyundai Motor America. "Electronic Stability Control, six airbags including side curtain airbags protect all three rows and active front head restraints as standard can be found in Veracruz and are some of the most effective techniques."

Veracruz advanced engineering provides a high accuracy in all directions, and is anchored to the electronic stability control as standard (ESC), the most important technology security. Continuing the analysis of driving speed, steering wheel, throttle position, lateral yaw rate and other factors, onboard microprocessor determines if the vehicle has started to understeer or oversteer, and automatically switches to one or more brakes. The system also reduces engine power to help the driver maintain the intended path.

In addition, Veracruz adds large four wheel disc brakes, 10-inch tandem brake booster and anti-lock (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and an impressive stopping distance for a car of its size. Brake Assist maximizes braking force an emergency stop is detected.

Veracruz are excellent passive safety features, at a total of six airbags, including advanced dual front airbags, front seat mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags on the roof, all three rows of seats. In addition, active front headrests to prevent whiplash. All seats have three-point seat belts, while the second and third row also adjustable headrests. Security is still through the standard alarm system and immobilizer engine available.

To absorb the effects of the cabin areas Hyundai engineers optimize the deformation and strengthening the architecture of the rails, half the sill frame, floor cross members and center pillars. These reinforcements have been tested thoroughly in laboratory and computer simulations. Veracruz has been designed and tested to receive the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) top five-star crash test rating in front and side impacts.

Convenient Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) enables child seats to be secured in the second row of seats. Other standard safety equipment includes a control system pressure (TPMS) alerts drivers if one or more tires are inflated. A brilliant display on the dash lets drivers know the exact tire needing inflation so corrective action can be taken.

The difference is in the details

As with all Hyundai vehicles, Hyundai put a great deal of thought and attention to detail in every aspect of Veracruz. A key opens and closes the available power tailgate, and the key about: fishing is by the hand of key foodstuffs. Puddle lamps save your best pair of shoes. An integrated memory system returns the driver's seat to the default settings. Lining the rear bumper with rear warning sensors makes parallel parking distance in an instant. Aerodynamic wiper blades improve visibility, and two-way nozzles, each with four streams of fluid to provide very clean windshield.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Review

Car manufacturers worldwide prepare the implementation of the timing of new transmission technologies for energy efficiency, such as gasoline direct injection (GDI), a twin-scroll turbocharger, all the power sources and hybrid, Hyundai has announced that the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata is the industry's first vehicle to offer all three technologies, the new Sonata 2.0T (turbo) and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to join the hot-selling GDI-equipped showrooms in late 2010 Hyundai Sonata.

The 2010 New York Auto Show, Hyundai announced its 2011 Sonata Hybrid, hybrid, unique methods to change the game design hybrid powertrain, battery technology and the appearance of the car. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the first hybrid in the U.S. market.

"The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the new kid on the block, but it is not a follower," said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "Its full parallel hybrid configuration, innovative lithium polymer batteries offers a new perspective on the traditional hybrid design, while its unique design sets it apart from the pack mid-sized hybrid."

Hyundai developed the hybrid architecture Blue Drive is a complete parallel hybrid drive, which can run an electric motor, fuel internal combustion engine, and a combination of both, depending on road conditions and driver's needs. Hyundai owners complete parallel architecture differs from the technology division of the energy used by most competitors, leading to significant performance advantages at high speed. Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive is the first and only technology with lithium polymer - bond market competition in the nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion applications. Lithium polymer offers the advantages of lithium-ion technology used in laptops and cell phones, but adds robustness, power density and package flexibility, making it ideal for automotive applications. Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive is also unique in its use even a very efficient company, the new compact 6-speed transmission, modified with the hybrid electric starter generator motor and pump low friction oil, which together help eliminate traditional torque converter.

Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive is a new addition of a full range of eco-focused products and technologies, Hyundai offers a goal to be the global automotive industry eco-leaders. According to the EPA, Hyundai has led the U.S. industry in fuel economy in 2008 and 2009, and is currently the only automaker with the fleet average fuel consumption by more than 30 miles per gallon.

"Hyundai applies advanced technologies to vehicles to provide the best solutions for the everyday driver," said Krafcik. "Unlike traditional hybrids that trade in the form of fuel economy score above the city, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid offers best-in-class highway fuel economy while providing an improvement of 40 percent economic front shoulder room compared to the Sonata II theta GDI engine equipped. We believe that this is a more balanced approach to most car buyers. "

PERFORMANCE

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is projected best in class fuel economy of 39 mpg highway offers significant benefits to hybrid owners shuttle highway, while offering outstanding fuel economy of 37 mpg city. Government studies have shown that the typical American driver in a state Highway 57 percent of the time. Hyundai's approach to delivering better fuel economy class on the highway mode gives a unique solution in the market for midsize sedans and differentiate hybrid Hyundai Sonata Hybrid from the likes of Toyota Camry hybrid and the Ford Fusion Hybrid. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid offers hybrid typical fuel economy gains in the city, like its competitors, but also give owners excellent fuel economy on the road where those competitors below.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid offers first class, the operation of electric vehicles in the steady-state speed of up to 62 mph. The commitment of gasoline depends on the charge state of speeds and vehicles. Its two propulsion units to develop a total power of 209 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, which surpasses all competitors in medium size and 195 lb-ft of torque. The architecture of the actual weight of the new Sonata platform, combined with the light of the lithium-polymer batteries, the Hyundai Sonata hybrid of the lightest vehicles in the segment, only 3457 pounds, 263 pounds lighter than the fusion hybrids. Combined with the highest ranking in the class, Sonata, Hyundai Sonata hybrid has a significant advantage in power to weight ratio, a key factor in performance and efficiency.

Hyundai Parallel Hybrid Drive system really is the heart of the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Use the power of competition in the system, a planet-directed continuously variable transmission (CVT). At this point, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid gains a critical advantage. Competing hybrid models use electric motors to power the planetary gear sets. Taking advantage of the entire system in parallel, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid uses the electric motor power more efficiently direct control of the vehicle, so that it can be used at speeds much higher than the competition in the EV-only mode. This technique is also a key factor for Hyundai Sonata Hybrid best-in-class highway fuel economy.

Hyundai blue hybrid drive architecture

Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive system is a proprietary parallel hybrid that runs on the already fuel-efficient 2.4-liter Theta II engine (169 hp at 6000 rpm and 156 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm) coupled a 6 - speed automatic and a 30 kW (151 lb.-ft.) electric motor for maximum fuel economy. Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive is an all-electric mode and a training mode parallel. This means that the wheels are turned by the power coming directly from gasoline engine or electric motor, or both as conditions demand. This parallel hybrid drive architecture will serve as a basis for future hybrid drive vehicles to be developed by Hyundai.

The hybrid system operates Blue Drive Hyundai Theta II multi-port injection (MPI) on an Atkinson cycle. Atkinson cycle is a type of strategy to the internal combustion engine to dramatically increase energy efficiency through changes in the compression stroke and power in the four-stroke engine. It is usually used in hybrid systems where a high torque electric motor increases the low-end power, which is offset by the efficiency of combustion. By combining the electric motor and Atkinson cycle engine offers Blue hybrid propulsion system, the best in their performance class highway hybrid.

To further improve fuel economy, all the Theta II of the main components of transmission and cooling system is optimized to reduce friction, while the crankcase has been filled with low friction oil. Hybrid Control Management Software (HPC) automatically stops the engine when the vehicle stops, reducing emissions to zero. When the pressure is restored to the accelerator pedal, the starter generator hybrid (HSG) automatically restarts the engine. This control strategy ensures that maximum efficiency is reached in the acceleration and more power available immediately at full throttle. During deceleration, braking regeneration comes into play. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid also features "smart braking" in which the input field trips input brake pedal.

High-tech, all-aluminum 16-valve engine has a continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) and camshafts, and the development of new engine parts to reduce friction. The Theta II engine optimized for fuel consumption by 10 per cent more than the traditional Theta II engine.

Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive your company to use a 6-speed automatic instead of the traditional hybrid CVT. Hyundai Strategy provides for the regulation of a modular six-speed gearbox, replaces the torque converter with an electric motor and an efficient oil pump. This technique uses a traditional step-by-shift six-speed manual gearbox instead of CVT to provide the convertibility of the traditional benefits of the customer and, at times artificially reproduced for CVT applications. This saves costs, Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive is a better value. This is a more stable and simple and elegant for a complex technical challenge.

Improvements in fuel efficiency are evident throughout Hyundai Sonata hybrid. For example, the first three ratios of transmission have been expanded to ensure the engine is running at low speed, electric motor, steering system reduces the demand on the engine and the tire's resistance to low optimization additional fuel.

Blue Hybrid Drive consists of:

Lithium Polymer TECHNOLOGY

Sonata hybrid system stores the electric charge in a 270V lithium-polymer battery (5.3Ah/270V) that surpasses existing nickel metal hydride and lithium-ion up applications. Lithium Polymer batteries are more durable and space-efficient than other hybrid batteries. They are also more effective weight. Hyundai Sonata hybrid battery weighs only 95.9 pounds compared to the Camry hybrid is 123.9 pounds. The compact battery lives in the front of the trunk to maximize cargo space.

Versus lithium polymer battery Ni-MH Batteries

Compared to nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium polymer batteries produce the same output from the weight 20 to 30 percent less, 40 percent less space and more than 10 percent efficient nickel-metal hydride batteries found in hybrid today. Lithium polymer batteries provide 1.7 times more energy density of nickel-metal hydride, which is owned by Hyundai engineers in less space and weight of the battery. Lithium polymer batteries hold charge of 1.25 times longer. Lithium polymer batteries are also more resistant to temperature changes, which improves the service life. In addition, lithium polymer battery self-discharge is less than one third of the nickel-metal hydride battery.

Lithium polymer batteries from lithium-ion

Lithium polymer has significant advantages over lithium-ion, including higher energy density and lower manufacturing costs. Lithium polymer is more resistant to physical damage and can handle more charge-discharge cycles before storage capacity begins to degrade. Lithium-polymer technology also offers significant advantages in terms of durability and thermal safety.

The main difference between a traditional lithium ion batteries and lithium polymer solution of Hyundai is to pack the whole cell - anode, cathode, electrolyte, and the coating material. Traditional lithium batteries, such as those found in laptop computers, using what is called the form of 18 650 cells. This form of mass production for each cell is 18 mm. in diameter and 65 mm. high, which is slightly larger than the "AA" batteries. Each of these small metal cylinders filled with a liquid electrolyte, which facilitates the movement of lithium ions across the anode and cathode, the battery generates current.

Traditional lithium-ion batteries are easy to handle, soft to withstand internal pressure, and has been around in various forms since 1991. This means that a manufacturing infrastructure is in place, and economies of scale that is reasonable. But they have several drawbacks. For example, reducing packaging efficiency cylindrical in shape and they are surprisingly complex to produce because they have so many small parts. These small parts which makes them robust against thermal fluctuations and increase significantly the cost and weight of the battery system together. Cell-to-cell consistency is also very critical in a vehicle's battery pack when the pack is only as strong as its weakest cell. Traditional lithium-ion batteries have a high cell to cell variation, while Hyundai lithium polymer batteries offer an excellent cell-cell coherence.

Lithium polymer technology uses a completely different approach. Instead of using a liquid electrolyte, requiring a rugged metal case, lithium polymer batteries use a polymer gel electrolyte, which allows the use of a thin aluminum walls and lighter, frozen, or bag. Inside each cell lithium polymer cathode, a separator and an anode laminated together as production easier and more reliable. This allows the battery to about 20 percent less than a lithium-ion battery, making it much easier to change the cell footprint to fit nooks and crannies of the space of available vehicles.

Hyundai and its battery supplier, LG Chem, have spent hundreds of hours of testing at the Disco Blue Hyundai hybrid lithium polymer battery system. This test proves that Hyundai lithium polymer has greater thermal and mechanical stability of existing systems, which means greater security and performance.

Another major technical challenge for Hyundai Hybrid Hard Blue has been to ensure a maintenance-free operation over the life of the battery of the car - at least 10 years and 150,000 miles - in any weather. Heat is an enemy of the life cycle of the battery. Hyundai thermal test shows how much cooler a lithium polymer battery in connection with today's nickel-metal hydride or a conventional lithium-ion battery. Consumers will notice these benefits in terms of improved durability and reduced maintenance costs.
